MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

The high speeds and absolute precision make high-speed electric drives ideal for a wide range of manufacturing and engineering applications. The motors are used, for example, as axle drives, main spindle drives and auxiliary drives in a range of manufacturing machinery and production facilities and are rated highly for their high level of efficiency and process reliability.

EXAMPLES:

Metal- and woodworking, milling, grinding, drilling, sawing

MACHINERY AND PLANT ENGINEERING

High-speed electric drives offer an alternative to current systems for increasing plant productivity. Their benefits become particularly clear when the application requires high speeds. When used as direct drives, high-speed electric drives facilitate new design alternatives to existing drive trains. This often considerably reduces mechanical drive complexity, making the overall system more reliable and lowering the costs of maintaining it.

EXAMPLES:

Axle drives, main drives, central drives

ELECTRIC MOBILITY

The high speeds achieved with high-speed electric drives provide the highest power densities with maximum compactness and lower motor weight. This combination, along with the broad range of speeds available, means that these motors ideally meet the operating requirements of electric vehicles.

Research into construction and agricultural machinery has shown that significant efficiency gains can be achieved by increasing speed. High-speed electric drives can therefore be used in this way not only in cars but in other vehicles as well.

EXAMPLES:

Traction and travel drives, belt drives, auxiliary and application drives for work machines

ELECTRIC MOTORS FOR SPECIAL APPLICATIONS

When installation of conventional drives is not possible due to high power requirements and a lack of space, a high-speed electric drive tailored to customer specifications can open up new possibilities. As our mechanical production process is largely in-house, drives can be designed precisely for environments where they will be used and integrated in existing mounting spaces.

In test rigs, high-speed electric motors allow test items to be operated to their technical limits. The drives also have sufficiently large power reserves to meet testing requirements in full.

EXAMPLES:

Belt drives, winding units, work machines in an industrial environment, special centrifuges, marine propulsion systems, testing facilities, generators

PROCESS ENGINEERING

High-speed electric motors are particularly well suited to process engineering. Here the power output in pumping or compressing operations must be matched precisely to the medium and the process conditions. Their broad power spectrum and absolute precision mean that high-speed electric motors can be adapted exactly for the application speed needed and optimized for high efficiency and output capacity.

Examples:

Pumps, compressors, expansion drive, turbines, residual heat utilization systems, generators
